Terrestrial based asset management and communications for Agriculture

Patent Pending technologies focused on connecting machines, sensors and devices for Agricultural, Construction and Industrial applications

The Problem

According to the UN's Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the world's population is over 7.6 billion people.  It is projected to be north of 9.8 billion people in 2050 while annual global crop production growth has been hovering at only 1.4% per year.  It won’t take long before demand for food out-strips our capacity to grow it.

Increasingly unpredictable weather patterns have farmers turning to various technologies to help them increase the productivity of their crops.  The leaders in the Precision Agriculture or Digital Agriculture space have begun utilizing the data streaming off of today's sophisticated farm machinery to understand where they can make improvements and mitigate risks.  And while some of these systems are quite advanced they are nothing without the data that powers them. Timely data transfer is a key enabler for this technology but farmers still struggle to connect their machines in rural areas with spotty coverage.

The Solution

AgCompute systems not only incorporate the remote monitoring of in-field assets such as sensors, combines, harvesters, data analysis vehicles and related equipment, but also physical back haul and last mile delivery infrastructure to market. This is performed in tandem with continuous reliability and connectivity even in hostile physical and networking conditions. By supporting, integrating, and enhancing these sometimes legacy assets and solutions, AgCompute systems can deliver this information to back end analytics via varying technologies. Practitioners may leverage existing digital agriculture technologies for optimized yields, harvesting, storage and delivery to markets.

AgCompute incorporates and leverages the following technologies::

  • Sensor technology, fog computing and cloud computing systems.
  • Object and image recognition, movement analysis
  • Multi-spectrum imagery collection
  • Heterogeneous networking technologies, including legacy cellular systems
  • Integrated drone technologies
